What is ShipStream?

ShipStream is a cloud-based fulfillment management software (FMS) designed for merchants and third-party logistics providers (3PLs). It provides powerful warehouse management capabilities including inventory tracking, order processing, shipping automation, and real-time visibility across fulfillment operations. ShipStream is built to handle complex fulfillment workflows for both single-warehouse operations and multi-location 3PL networks. Primary Purpose: ShipStream delivers enterprise-grade fulfillment management for merchants operating their own warehouses or 3PLs managing fulfillment for multiple clients. The platform provides comprehensive warehouse management, order orchestration, inventory control, and shipping automation with extensibility through plugins and integrations, enabling efficient fulfillment operations at scale. The platform integrates through TrackStar for standardized connectivity with returns management platforms and other e-commerce tools, ensuring seamless data flow across your tech stack.

What Does the Integration Do?

When a customer initiates a return through Redo, the system automatically creates an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) in ShipStream, notifying the warehouse that items are being returned. This ensures your fulfillment team has complete visibility into incoming returns and can prepare to receive and process them according to your established workflows, with all the information they need available immediately. Products are mapped using SKUs, returns are linked to the original order for accurate tracking and inventory reconciliation, and shipping information (carrier, service, tracking number) is sent to help warehouse staff identify incoming packages. Return reasons and processing instructions are transmitted to guide warehouse staff on proper handling—whether items should be restocked to available inventory, quarantined for inspection, or processed according to specific disposition rules. The integration supports multiple warehouses and multiple shipments per return, providing flexibility for complex fulfillment networks and split returns.

How to Set It Up

Follow these steps to configure the ShipStream integration with Redo.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure you have:
You must have an active ShipStream account with appropriate permissions to manage integrations and API access.
You’ll need your ShipStream API credentials (API Username, API Password, and API URL) to connect through TrackStar.Where do I find these credentials?
Your products and orders must already be synced to ShipStream from your e-commerce platform or order management system. Returns cannot be created for products or orders that don’t exist in ShipStream’s database.
Know which warehouse(s) in ShipStream handle your returns. Returns will be routed to the warehouse that fulfilled the original order, so warehouse configuration must be complete.

Configuration Steps

Go to Settings > Returns & Claims > Integrations and locate the “TrackStar” card.
2

Select ShipStream

Click Connect on the TrackStar card and select “ShipStream” from the WMS provider list.

  2. Generate a return shipping label
  3. Check the return timeline in the Redo dashboard for a ShipStream RMA creation entry
  4. Log in to ShipStream and navigate to RMAs to verify the return was created
