How the Points Estimate Works
Smile.io does not expose an endpoint that predicts the points a given order will award, so Redo estimatessmile_points_to_earn from your program’s earning
rules:
- Redo reads your Smile.io earning rules and applies every “points per amount spent” rule to the cart’s post-discount subtotal.
- Rules restricted to a VIP tier are only counted when the shopper is in that tier.
- Fixed-value rules (for example, a flat 100 points for placing an order) are not included, because Smile.io’s API does not distinguish a fixed order reward from other fixed rewards such as following you on social media. If your program uses fixed rewards for purchases, the estimate will be conservative.
